Job Description:

L3Harris has an immediate opening for a Lead Engineer to support the Space & Intel products in development efforts for programs and IRAD projects. The Project Engineer will be responsible for leading a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments in our growing space business area.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops, oversees and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.

  • Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.

  • Assesses engineering issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions program-level risks.

  • Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

  • Experience in complex, multi-discipline programs including but not limited to; mechanical, electrical, systems, and firmware, with a background in space systems.

  • Experience managing projects with budgets of $10M+.

  • Experience implementing and adapting project execution plans that will achieve technical, cost, and schedule requirements.

  • Eligible to obtain a security clearance.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience leading Government Contract development programs.

  • Experience leading a multi-disciplined team of engineers.

  • Experience with program pursuit and proposal activities.

  • Experience in systems engineering with RF design or digital communications background, RF and mixed signal circuit theory, phase lock loops, test equipment expertise, design and development process controls, proposals, and marketing presentations.

  • Experience with firmware (VHDL) development processes.

  • Experience in managing electronics design projects, preferably high reliability communications equipment.

  • Active Secret or Top Secret or TS/SCI security clearance.

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $144,000 - $205,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
