Job Description : L3Harris in Palm Bay, FL currently has an opening for a Senior Scientist, Digital Hardware Engineer. In this role, you will support the development of DSP algorithms for data acquisition and telemetry products. Responsibilities will include generation of algorithm specifications, FPGA coding, simulation, and analyses, and integration & verification testing. This position is a r egular part-time (20hr/week) position.

Essential Functions:

• Generate design concepts and architectures to satisfy performance requirements

• Ensure the FPGA simulations verify performance, then integrate and test the FPGA on the circuit card assembly.

• Support the full life cycle development and integration of VHDL into different families of FPGAs.

• Support the bench-level system integration with hardware, software, and other FPGA designs

• Support proposal efforts and early stages of the program to define detailed system requirements

• Support qualification and production test in the event of test failures

• Support customer with use and troubleshooting of fielded products

  Qualifications :

• Requires both advanced business knowledge and highest level of technical mastery in functional area. Leadership capability to guide business or functional teams without formal management role. Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.

• 8+ years experience coding in VHDL and modeling algorithms, simulating, and integrating multiple FPGA-based modules

• Experience with DSP algorithm development

  Preferred Additional Skills:

• Active security clearance
