Job Description:

This is a senior level position that will work collaboratively with the division HR team, Business Leaders, and the Human Resources Director. In addition to ensuring effective delivery of HR core processes and compliance with relevant company guidelines and policies, this position requires the ability to partner and influence people at all levels of the organization. This position supports a large and complex manufacturing organization which includes a union. The ideal candidate for the role has a proven track record of delivering results in a highly matrixed organization, a passion for helping other succeeds and will be responsible for the execution of HR strategy for the Space and Sensors business.

Essential Functions:

  • Partnering both within HR and on a cross-functional basis in developing and executing talent strategies to support achievement of business operating plans and strategic objectives, while building on the cultural foundation of the division.

  • Continued drive towards seamless integration within the HR function, ensuring the delivery of value-added, high-quality and proactive HR support on a consistent division-wide basis.

  • Serves as a senior advisor to provide counsel on issues affecting employee performance, strategic leadership, diversity & engagement leadership, talent strategy and retention. Work with leaders to drive organizational performance and promote valued behaviors .

  • Drives the development of organizational capability and bench strength to deliver against key business objectives, inclusive of talent reviews, succession, and resource planning.

  • Works closely with Operational leadership and the Talent Acquisition group to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained and an effective workforce plan is implemented.

  • Proactively works Employee Relations issues to ensure a positive, employee-friendly culture.

  • Understands and implements corporate processes and procedures with an understanding of impacts to site and organization while effectively working with leadership at all levels to optimize operational results.

  • Partners with functional HR peers in the design and implementation of HR best practices related to performance management, recruiting and on-boarding, etc, that effectively balance best-in-class design principles with the unique nature and needs of the business.

  • Works with matrixed leaders to ensure the business unit is harmonized with people strategies.

  • Previous experience in change management and has the ability to develop or champion new concepts.

  • Develop and implement programs that foster engagement and sound employee relations.

  • Formulate, measure and utilize key HR metrics / dashboard to help develop HR strategies and drive continuous improvement.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant HR experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

  • 4+ years in a matrixed organization

  • 4+ years in a union environment

  • Ability to obtain and maintain US DoD clearance, which requires US Citizenship

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience and competence in the various HR functional areas: Labor & Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Compensation; Employee Relations; Leadership Coaching, Training and Organizational development, Diversity & Engagement; Change Management & Leadership

  • Prior experience navigating in a multi divisional matrix company structure.

  • Experience in building highly effective organizational systems, processes and infrastructure

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

  • Possesses strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and balance competing needs (employee and business advocacy; business unit and corporate initiatives; functional and operational agendas; etc.)

  • 9+ years of progressive human resources experience.

  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

  • Strong business acumen

  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success.

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).

  • Must have outstanding interpersonal, influence and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Previous experience in change management the ability to develop or champion new concepts is a plus.

  • 6+ years Employee Relations issues and complaints, including investigations.
