Job Description:

The Sr. Manager of Operations will lead the transformation and standardization of all production lines within the Integrated Vision Solutions Sector. This includes implementing one piece flow, lean manufacturing technics, and leading 3P events. Additionally this position will be responsible for strategic and daily execution of the operations function, focusing on standardization and application of core manufacturing policies and processes.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the organization in the development and implementation of operating philosophies, business strategies, and drive new manufacturing initiatives across the enterprise.

  • Support a team responsible for changing culture and mindset

  • Develop, implement, and sustain success metrics, incorporating best practices, and effectively communicating improvements.

  • Experience supporting factory transformations including deploying advanced manufacturing processes/automation, training initiatives and/or successfully moving production lines.

  • Conduct production and process flow optimization to support full rate production.

  • Effectively manage and positively influence behavior and culture across multiple sites within a matrix organization.

  • Develop a world-class operations team through staffing, training, and talent management initiatives while serving as a role model for integrity, inclusion, and diversity.

  • Develop and implement strategies to meet cost, quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, EHS, and continuous improvement commitments.

  • Fundamental knowledge in EHS to drive zero injury plans with a proactive safety approach.

  • Support Technical Tiger Teams for Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) assessment on programs and production processes where applicable.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Business Management, Engineering, or similar field with 12 years prior experience with manufacturing methods, lean methodology, production planning, quality management systems, Graduate Degree with 10 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills

  • Aerospace & Defense (A&D) manufacturing experience

  • Experience in the following fields of Operational Excellence:

  • Understanding of lean principals around pull systems, mix/max controls, etc.

  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

  • 5S+1 Visual Factory

  • Gemba implementation

  • Strong experience implementing a metric driven approach across all Operations functions

  • Ability to drive employee engagement through:

  • Leader of standard work

  • Factory Gemba walk process

  • Quality improvements and zero defect strategies

  • Comprehensive, proactive safety initiatives

  • Lean deployment
