Job Description:

Aerojet Rocketdyne’s, a segment of L3Harris, growing Additive Manufacturing Technology Center in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a Sr. Additive Manufacturing Engineer to support process improvements, parameter development, and implement automation solutions for high profile programs using the latest in additive technology. This position is responsible for collaborating with the dynamic team at Daytona Beach to support the implementation of new processes, process improvements, advanced process controls and automation to advance the production of additively manufactured rocket motors across multiple printing technologies.

Essential Functions:

• Process Engineering responsibilities include the following: o Coordinate the launch of the latest Additive Manufacturing (AM) equipment following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures o Research, develop, test, and implement optimal process control for cost effective Additive Manufacturing o Lead operation activities to implement advanced process controls through data analytics in AM to reduce variation, improve reliability and repeatability o Integrate automation into AM process to improve safety, quality, and reduce waste. o Implement and utilize digital manufacturing, in-situ monitoring, and data analytics to monitor the health of AM processes and equipment for predictive maintenance

• AM Project Management o Evaluate incoming projects and components for the viability of Additive Manufacturing o Educate and advise project teams in the design for manufacturability o Implement industrial manufacturing best practices for a visual workplace o Support the installation and development activities for brand new automated production cells o Manage the schedule, acquisition, and installation of capital equipment

• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance• Travel <5%• 9/80 Work Schedule

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in aerospace, conventional manufacturing or an equivalent combination of experience and education• Fundamental understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma Concepts• B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials or equivalent degree• Exceptional written and oral communication skills to include report writing, requirements derivation, and documentation, as well as design review presentations

Preferred Additional Skills:

• • 3 years of experience with Laser Powder Bed metal additive manufacturing (EOS, GE Concept Laser, SLM Solutions) • Master's degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical• Working knowledge of additive simulation software• Working knowledge of robotics and automation• Working knowledge of Heat Transfer and Thermal Dynamics with a focus on Additive Manufacturing• Working knowledge of Laser Welding theory, concepts, and or applications with a focus on Additive Manufacturing• Working knowledge of lasers and optics systems• Working experience in utilizing Big Data & Industry 4.0 techniques and concepts• Experience with automation in manufacturing work environments • Experience with SolidWorks, Creo or similar CAD software• Active DoD Secret Clearance
