Fuzing & Ordnance Systems (FOS), a division of L3Harris Technologies, provides precision electronic components, subsystems, and systems for DoD and international allies. Job Description:

Conduct reliability analysis and safety assessment of electronic and electro-mechanical devices containing analog, digital and RF circuitry. Analyses include Stress Analysis, Reliability Prediction, Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Testability Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis and System Hazard Analysis. Write detailed reliability analysis and safety assessment reports.

Essential Functions:

  • Generate Reliability Plans and Procedures.

  • Interpret and allocate reliability requirements.

  • Perform Reliability, Maintainability, Availability, Safety, FMEA, FMECA and Fault Tree Analysis.

  • Support FRACAS activities: Monitor and assist with failure recording. Participate in failure analysis to determine root cause and corrective action.

  • Actively engage with system design engineers in the development of new designs/configurations.

  • Provide recommendations to assure compliance with reliability requirements.

  • Participate in system/element design reviews, presentations, and meetings with customer and with other contractors.

  • Liaise with clients and other technical disciplines within the company on reliability issues.

  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously during development and production stages.

  • Read and analyze electrical schematics.

  • Aerospace, defense or government program work

  • Must be eligible to obtain a government issued security clearance if needed in the future.

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

  • Two (2) years of Reliability Engineering experience, pertaining to electronic & electro-mechanical devices.

  • Two (2) years experience building component level failure rate models.

  • Two (2) years experience with reliability demonstration testing including thermal cycling, burn-in, and vibration.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Two (2) years experience performing Electrical Stress/Derating Analysis, FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, and System Hazard Analysis on electronic and electro-mechanical devices.

  • Two (2) years experience with performing reliability predictions using MIL-HDBK-217 or equivalent prediction methodologies.

  • Two (2) years experience with MIL-STD-1629A, MIL-STD-785, and MIL-HDBK-1547A.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools.

  • Experience with prediction software tools such as PTC Windchill Quality Solutions, Item Toolkit, or similar tools.

  • Experience with mechanical reliability concepts and equations.

  • Experience with Environmental Stress Screening (MIL-HDBK-344A).

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $74,000 MIN - $138,000 MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
