We are searching for an Accounting Manager in our Aviation Systems Segment, located in Arlington, TX. You will report directly to the Segment Assistant Controller with significant interactionwith the Segment Controller, CFO, Sector CFO’s, Divisional CFO’s/ Controllers, ICFR Coordinators, as well as Corporate Controller’s Office and Corporate Internal Audit Department.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible Quarterly Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) adjustment entries and consolidate the AS Segment Financials

  • Point of contact for Segment to trouble shoot and answer questions from divisions in regards to HFM.

  • Review and consolidate quarterly accounting schedules required for financial statement disclosures.

  • Perform quarterly reconciliation and analysis on consolidating adjustment entities.

  • Prepare and summarize quarterly Balance Sheet and P&L flux analysis.

  • Create and maintain Smartview schedules for financial statement analysis

  • Ad hoc special projects as required

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist Segment Controller & Assistant Controller in performing accounting and internal control reviews at financial reporting locations within the Segment. Reviews will include the following:

  • Obtaining a detailed understanding of the business, including major programs/products, and evaluation of the reliability and integrity of financial information, business processes and internal control documentation in accordance with L-3 policies and internal controls over financial reporting.

  • Evaluating compliance with revenue recognition policies and procedures, adequacy of EACs, performance of net realizable valuations and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Review Accounting / Revenue recognition transactions and document the conclusions in an accounting whitepaper. Obtain Corporate Approval when necessary.

  • Review and understand Corporate Accounting Policies and assist Divisional personnel in implementing those policies

  • Interface with Corporate Controller’s Office and Internal Audit Department. Assist divisions in remediating issues highlighted in AICR and/or IAD Reports.

  • Quarterly and annual certification process. Assist Segment Controller in gaining comfort over the Segment’s financial results by performing tests of key period-end financial reporting controls prior to signing the Quarterly / Annual representation letter to Corporate.

  • Develop effective working relationships with Divisional and/or Sector Management to facilitate the resolution of any questions and any areas of improvement identified.

  • Support both internal and external audit requests.

  • 20 to 30% travel required.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent and 5 to 10 years of total experience

  • Consolidation experience – monthly or quarterly close processes

  • Journal entry experience

Additional Qualifications

  • HFM experience preferred

  • CPA is a plus
